Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsibility for translating client business requirements into specific system, application or process designs. This includes working with client personnel and executives to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution.
• Creating solution blueprints for projects, presenting them and reviewing them with all system architecture groups (database, operations, and core systems)
• Responsibility to apply significant knowledge across multiple platforms, as well as broad knowledge of new technologies, the competitive landscape and have the required proficiency skill levels to analyze the customer's business and IT challenges and design a comprehensive solution that integrates smoothly into the customer's environment, is checked carefully for reliability, availability and scalability, and leverages the entire organizational portfolio in order to increase solution/product market share
• Mentor and provide guidance to team members, and anticipating potential problems associated with the solution being developed.
• Develop and lead execution of the technical risk management plan for solutions to be implemented.
• Understand future customer, industry and information technology trends and apply this understanding to develop robust solutions and to identify opportunities for future business and lead selection of methodologies, tools and components of total IT solutions.
• Provide support and recommendations to business analysts in creating functional specifications for assigned projects

Educational Requirements and Work Experience
• Bachelors or Masters in Technology Process Engineering, Computer Science and/or information technology or related numerate discipline.
• 3+ years of driving solution architecture design
• 5+ years of overall IT / software development experience
• Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure architecture including data centres, corporate networks and cloud computing
• Experience in at least two of the following architectural domains - Mobile Application Architecture, Enterprise Web Application Architecture, Infrastructure & Network Security
• Experience working in public sector organizations
• Valid industry certifications, particularly those in enterprise architecture such as ITAC, COBIT, TOGAF, CEA, Zachmanns, etc would be highly desirable.
